It matters now because it exposes underlying motivations. There are so many 
anti-war activists here in the US who were conspicuously SILENT when Clinton 
UNILATERALLY bombed Bhagdad, and circumvented the UN Security Council in the 
Kosovo campaign. This demonstrates that the characterization of this Iraq 
war as representative of some new "Bush doctrine" has an agenda behind it 
that has nothing to do with being anti-war (otherwise, there would have been 
equal outcries from the same people when Clinton bombed Bhagdad and during 
the Kosovo campaign), and more to do with ... other things.
