I got mail via heidegger.info pointing out that, a La Rouche site, of all places, http://www.larouchepub.com/pr/site_packages/2003/leo_strauss/3015strauss_chronology.html, has this nugget: 1922: Strauss studied under Martin Heidegger, who impressed him deeply. This bio of Strauss, http://members.tripod.com/Cato1/strauss-bio.htm#_edn35 sez: Strauss was very impressed by Heideggers thoroughness and intensiveness of his interpretations of philosophic texts, (in particular, on one occasion, when he understood something of what Heidegger meant, his interpretation of the beginning of Aristotles Metaphysics). That would indicate that the course Strauss attended in 1922 was "Phnomenologische Interpretationen ausgewhlter Abhandlungen des Aristoteles zur Ontologie und Logik (GA62)". Does anyone on this list know if the above is correct? Hi That Pete, GA62 is not yet out. But GA61, despite Aristotle in the title, contains no text on Ari, and, if memory serves, the same goes for GA 63. Together with the right year 1922, I would conclude that the above is correct. Thanks for some interesting references. I remember to have read a letter by Heidegger to a young student, wherein he speaks of the two origins of the Western world, Athens and Jerusalem. regards rene --- from list heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
