Subject: RE: the death of god for kids Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 16:37:52 +0200 From: "Bakker, R.B.M. de" <R.B.M.deBakker-AT-uva.nl> Or: what is Gelassenheit, if there are no Messkirchers unknowingly needing it? -- A self-correction: Heidegger *did* say in the adress Gelassenheit, that their world of tv, radio and magazines is not a world. If one responds: but a tv is also a being, and the Internet is also a world, then don't worry and be happy. rene -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: Bakker, R.B.M. de Verzonden: dinsdag 17 juni 2003 14:24 Aan: heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu Onderwerp: RE: the death of god for kids If all what I wrote on the death of god, that is the end of metaphysics, or metaphysics as nihilism, is made into a philosophical item, held separated from concrete parents and children, then we are at philosophical fagottism. (fatal disease, apparently) Anthony's ontological and Jud's ontic: just 2 ways how you get stuck, although with more chances to be 'happy' and rich and all that. No, it is certainly not the 'moral depravity' of the sixties, that makes these kids into what they are now. Very intelligently, causes and effects will be confounded forever. But first comes the death of God, and only in that region the father and the child and the mother become what they are. Dost., as a journalist, wrote on atheism, the end of the family etc. on account of the scientific excusing of guilt in juridical matters - Iwan Karamazov: I'm not a Bernard! - , on account of a mother that threw her baby out of the window in a Moscow flat, and so on. The problem is: nobody has an idea of what metaphysics is, and everybody is talking about it. Talking? Criticizing. But they are nobody because of this same metaphysics. I've been reading 30 pages Kant with students every week from 8-11 during a whole year, now they want Heidegger, but I don't think that's wise. They've begun to realize that 'transcendental unity of the apperception' is something quite mysterious, that, without more light in it, talk of 'subjectivity' is pointless, and Heidegger's Eroerterung ('determination of its place, region') of it still more out of sight. Eminem is already too difficult.. rr.. --- from list heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- --- from list heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
