Jud, what if your child's life was in danger, and the only way you could 
help them involved intense suffering on your part? Would you do it? Would 
that be noble, and in THAT way beautiful on your part? So given that for 
Christianity there is something even more important than life itself and 
suffering has an impact on it, why should it intrigue you that Christianity 
would see suffering as beautiful in that way?
