But, Michael, the whole idea and concept of "social relation" is itself a
modern manifestation of gestell (I'm assuming we *are* talking here of the
*sociological* {or 'social scientific'} concepts of social relation: Marx,
Weber, Durkheim, Parsons, et al... it seems to me that the very advent and
acceptance of the sociological is one manifestation of the scientisation of
the world in its entirety (for the exercise of control and communication in
a total sense), and thus of the encroaching domination of gestell itself;
the realm of the social, economic, political and lately, communication and
media, is far from immune or allergic to the overwhelming charms and
determinations of the gestell: in fact, I would suggest strongly that these
forms of knowledge have greedily soaked up such a determination and
re-produced it in their speech and praxis).
