I know Henry. However, the same or another report also stated that 400,000
Iraq soldiers were fired and now are unemployed. These were not the Royal
Guard, but the respected Iraq army, who would have been very effective for
the US and the UK had they been retained some how. They were well armed, and
trained, but now they cannot even feed their families. They are still 'well
armed'...which should be worrisome...for the US.

De-nazification or de-Husseining would be easier had those whose skills
could be appropriated were enlisted some how.

Heidegger was determined to be a 'fellow travellor' of the Nazi Party. I
don't know what that would mean. At one time all German youth were enlisted
in to Hitler Youth.

Anyway it certainly does not look very good for the US in Iraq. So far the
US has been spending about $2 billion per week since the invasion, and there
are plans to scale down the involvement. I think the US alone has lost 22
helicopters, and as the invasion progresses the equipment gets rundown and
more inefficient. Once key people in Warload Bush's fold sense that the cost
will be to high, then they will begin forgetting about this 'issue' like
most short term political phenomenon. Since Bush came to power the US budget
on defence has increased more than the entire military budget of China (can
you imagine that). The US military budget is larger than the next 11 highest
military budgets in the world.

Odd that it cannot 'win' in Iraq, or Afghanistan.

There is an obvious reason for that. The Bush Admin thought that the Arabs
would welcome them as liberators. That was their failure. Anyway it looks
pretty grim of the Americans now too because of the increase in attacks
against the Americans from within an area which is quite large. The Shiia's
and the Sunni's don't trust the Americans....and why should they. They see
the Americans as being just as bad as Saddam Hussein or worse....to bad....

Over 20% of the US troops which originally went to Iraq have been injured,
killed or become too sick to stay. With just about 133,000 US troops there
warlord Bush will have to replace up to half the US troops within one year.
This will involve conscription, for sure. Or increasing the pay of recruits,
or the hiring of private armies.

Anyway it looks like a bad situation.
