Subject: Re: history of seminar list names

Let me explain where the seminar list names came from. In the old days
when we were on the World system, we didn't have the capability for
creating lists: we had to ask the system administrators. Therefore
it was much harder to create a new list: it involved bothering someone
who had many other things to do. That's why we decided to have a
pool of neutrally-named lists that we would just use for short-term
discussions, without having to go through the list-creation and list-deletion process each time. Now we can create lists ourselves,
and the seminar lists are basically lefovers from the old times.
