I would like to ask Spoons if I could set-up/moderate a small mailing list
called "Marx/Engels" to run as an adjunct to the Marx/Engels Internet
Archive I administer at Colorado U, and which is now mirrored at two other
sites around the planet. It could either be simply for those helping
transcribe works -- or could be opened to a focused sharing of data on the
works and lives of these two men, as a supplement to having the works
themselves digitally available.

If there is a possibility of setting this up through Spoon, I would refine
the intent further. If it ain't possible, I'm sure the world will survive
another day.

Please advise, ground control.

Ken.

I was a bit surprised not to see any further comment, and held back
myself, least the merits of the proposal might be confused with
controversy about the creation of a new marxism2 list.

Well there was no flak sighted back on list-proposals, but positively
I think there is a lot to be said for this idea. Even though M2 was born
in frustration and irritation that was partly a reflection of volume
and demand pressures. It basically has been healthy to see the spawning
of a new l'st.

Marxism1 has been in a sense all too successful in attracting interest.
The logic is going towards a cluster of interacting lists and other
network resources, some of which Spoons may be willing to help with.

A discussion list about building up the marxist internet libraries
of the sort Ken suggests, could fit very well into that cluster
alongside other facilities, if Spoon collective feels able to support
a trial. Was there any private response to Ken's suggestion?
