Subject: Re Subject List

Hi Folks:

I hope this email finds all of you well. Sorry for the delay in
responding to your invitation. I guess my first subscribe email did not go
through. Thank you for your invitation to participate in conversation about
the proposal. Thank you also for your consideration of this matter. I really
do appreciate your time and consideration.

Let me provide you a brief bio: My name is Nathaniel I. Cordova, I'm a
Doctoral Candidate in the Communication Dept. at the University of Maryland
at College Park. My area is Rhetorical Studies and within that: how people
use their voice to gain and negotiate access to democratic public
participation; constitutive rhetorics; and social change. It is out of my
primary interest in constitutive rhetoric from which my interests in
collective subject issues stem. My interests in collective subjectivities
are not just academic. My background before coming back to school involved
social work, public awareness, coalition building, minority training,
minority non-profit institutional development, care-management, etc. Thus, I
am also interested in subjectivity issues for, as Malgosia mentioned in a
previous email to me, their "micro-political potential." Hence my desire to
explore the potential of the list as more than what has become the
traditional format. We'll see what comes up.

I'll leave the bio there unless you have more specific questions. I look
forward to conversing with you about the list.

Best Regards,

Nathaniel I. Cordova
