Subject: Re: the translation (in progress) of DISCOURS, FIGURE

Dear Arjan,

I have no idea about the person to contact for your transaltion of Lyotard. I
only did my Master Thesis (University of St. Gallen for Management, Switzerland)
about the Differend and it' s implication for creative process. As I am
bilingual in French and German (two mother tongues) I can tell you according to
my experience
that the translations into German of Lyotard (especially of the Diferend) are
of bad quality.
If you desire to ask some questions, I am ready to try my best to help you as I
am not studiing philosophy but management.

Good Luck

Alexander Stolberg

greetings!

i'm a PhD. (in philosophy) at the tilburg university (the netherlands). i'm
writing a
dissertation about the relation between the esthetic, ethic and
politic in the work of lyotard. i also use i. kant. its by the way
not a historical, but a thematical dissertation. the main theme is
the esthetic of the sublime. the art of language and his avantgarde
influence on or disturbance of the society.
i'm searching for the translation of "discours, figure". i read
lyotard in four languages: dutch, englisch, german and french.
because my french is poor.
i'm hoping that someone knows more about the translation (in
progress) and who i can contact.
i'm also interested in people who have the same topic as i have. i'm
eager to discuss about lyotard.

thanks!

greetings,

arjan simons (tilburg university)
