Hugh,

I do share your perspective on Lyotard.  He is a wealth of inspiring
ideas.  And I, too, like Lyotard more than Foucault. I have a couple of 
papers being published on Lyotard, by the way.  They should appear later 
this year or next.

Still, Foucault had different and interesting things to say.  And even
though we Lyotard enthusiasts may think Lyotard is better we cannot move
forward, it seems to me, by amputating other language games from the text
of our postmodern understanding.  It would be like trying to run a race on
just our favorite leg.  At the very least, surely, Foucault is a very
worthy Other.
