don't worry, I found it interesting. It got me thinking about academia
and the media as various modes of legitimation.  The movie 1942 is a
case in point.  Why bother to publically fund a history department when
Hollywood can do the job and make money to boot!

You tempted me to go out and rent Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear.

It sounds even more historical than 1942 (If that's possible.)
