See >Webster. When was it ever not a plutocracy? The whole idea of the US Constitution was to eliminate democracy in substance on the grounds that democracy was prone to instability, thus being unwise for the economy, and was unjust in that it led to practices such as redistribution of wealth, such practices as were occuring under the Articles of Confederation. See for example, James Madison, the Federalist Paper #10 where he explicity goes into this. He argues that the new Constitution will provide the forms of democracy without the too much of the substance. Those are my words, not his, but read the Federalist #10. The Federalist papers were the propaganda for the new constitution, they were meant to be persuasive. Check out the nature of the arguments if you think the designers of the constitution intended or approved of democracy in practice. > >is. **They and the U.S. and the U.K. and a host other certified Christian >nations plus all those faceless intellectuals are only doing God's will per >His instructions, as they interpret His voice - telling them the holiness of >their beliefs in teaching the infidels a lesson. > I was bemused this week to read in the paper about the exposure of Billy Graham's anti-semitism on the tapes made by Nixon of all his Oval Office conversations. Both Nixon and Grahan agree on the tapes that the jews control the mass media and are ruining the country as a result. Graham says he has a lot of Jews who are "great friends" who don't know how he really feels, and these men agree, they must keep this secret. It would not be good to be open about this, they agree. Shamelessly of course. Graham has been the religious counselor for the other President Bush as well and is very well politically connected at various levels of power. I remember feeling offended at the 1st Bush's inauguration, Graham was brought out to say a prayer over the new world order, and he spoke directly to Christ and asked him to guide America, etc., what poor taste. So now, Graham who is totally busted says he doesn't remember ever making those anti-semitic remarks and after all they don't represent his true views, yeah right. what a paragon of virtue he is. Not. Judy
