Eric, has listed some possible provisional roles. I think I would like
to claim one for myself, posting things that i think are relevant but
not necessarily linked to what is said except in a general way. Would
that work?  I hope so.  Here's one such posting:

"The differend does not signify that the two parties do not understand
each other.  [In fact,]It requires that each know the idiom of the
other..., although each cannot satisfy the demand of the other by means
of its own idiom."  ... It is necessary to the differend for the parties
to 'understand' each other.  But neither party succeeds in making the
demand of the other legitimate for itself."
