From: "Diane Davis" <ddd-AT-mail.utexas.edu> Subject: RE: where was he born? Date: Mon, 13 May 2002 12:55:01 -0500 Lois, I believe he was born in Versailles, but I'm not sure where I got that info. I had to write an entry on Lyotard for an encyclopedia on 20th century rhetors a few years back, and I see that I began: "Jean-François Lyotard was born in Versailles in 1924..." I remember struggling to find information about his birth, and then...as I was writing this piece, he died. Suddenly a lot of info came out (mainly in obit pieces and memorials) that I hadn't been able to find before. So that may have been where i picked it up.
