It is the refusal of Israels supporters to recognise that the
Palestinians are oppressed by Israel that is the problem , not the
Palestinians greator ability to engage in armed struggle than the South
Africans were able to. Better to compare it to the case of the Mau-Mau
where a small number of 'white settlers' were murdered by the Mau-Mau,
and the spectacle reacted in horror, whilst the British state killed
thousands in concentration camps which the spectacle ignored.... for
nearly 50 years.

Here's something I've been perplexed about for awhile. Why
don't the Palestinians follow the lead of South Africans
against Apartheid, and demonstrate more along those lines?
They could even take a song or two that the Jews sang to
unify one another against the Nazis. Wouldn't that be
something if they used the same tune but just changed the
words to make them more relevant to their struggle?

Sometimes it seems as if the Palestinians simply don't want
to be seen as an exploited or repressed people. Sometimes it
seems like they would rather fight fire with fire. Are there
cultural explanations for this?
