Steve/All,

God/theology and faith are concerned with (eric's quote) the event of a
truth that itself remains unnameable.

Religious writers believe in and encourage others to believe in truths ehat
cannnot be named, communicated, explained, or understood. In the absence
of understanding, religious leaders cite the name of God..

Badiou and other writers have faith in the existence of truths that cannot
be named, communicated, explained or understood. In the absence of
understanding , they cite each each other's names.

regards,
Hugh

unspeakable, unknowable, hence unnameable. Truths that leave their selves
incommunicado but with religious fervor for naming each other. I remember a
night service outdoors in an enormous public space at Lourdes. Hundreds of
cripples and otherwise afflicted. All of them immersed in holy scripture,
holy light and holy music. Confident in their faith; certain the name of God
would make them whole.
