yesterday I watched the exemplary postmodern trash tv series Angel, once
again as the credits rolled I wondered why the construction was as
bizarrely conservative as it was....the representation of humans as
victims seems completely inappropriate and I'm still not sure why it's
so much a part of the program.

In the interest of sanity - I supply a more interesting story line - at
the end of an episode where an anonymous old man is almost killed by
werewolves and vampires - and patronised by the inhuman-ubermensch who
rescue him...

There was a public phone not far away. The old man put in a coin. He
punched in a number he hadn't called for ages. "Tonto" he says " get out
the silver and wood bullets..."

regards
steve
