I don't like the idea of Yahoo! at all, given that their archives are shit 
(sorted only by date, can only be accessed by people with Yahoo! IDs, not 
searchable by google), and they're full of advertising.

I'd be happy to set up a list on the Student-Run Computing Facility in 
Cambridge, if people want. Or there are many other alternatives: Riseup, 
Mutual Aid, Jiscmail, Aktivix... All offering much better functionality 
than Yahoo!.
