Subject: M-G: Dialectics: Philosophy is No Mystery

My apologies to anyone who got more than one copy of this post. -Jay / Detroit

I am very interested to see a struggle around dialectical materialism.
One of the reasons myself and others were expelled from the RCP-USA
(Revolutionary Communist Party-USA) was for trying to promote a
party-wide campaign to study and apply dialectical materialism,
after realizing that the RCP was no longer correct in any way due
to their leadership departing from reality and using bourgeois
idealism instead of dialectical materialism. It had gotten to the
point where everything that party does is a flop, a failure. You
had a bunch of leaders, 3 or 4 for every one working "member". These
leaders, some of them underground and some above, have no relation to
any practice, some receiving a salary so they don't have to work, they
just sit around thinking up screwy tasks for the productive members to
carry out.
These underground leaders are referred to as the "Invisibles", and do not
even go to political marches, rallies, strikes, or events of any kind,
something to do with security supposedely.
These things made the leadership divorced from the correct practice.
Instead of starting out from what was actually going on in the world,
they started out with a picture of the world that was totally inaccurate.
And they had become big bloated pompous party-bureacrats who had
no inclination to listen to the masses, they did not need to figure out the
contradictions, they had worked out everthing years ago. The big cheese
himself, Chairman Bob Avakian, has been in self-exile in France now since
1980, having no idea what conditions are like in this country or even in
the party. You can tell from his current writings that he hasn't a clue.

I was finally told that "we" didn't need to know much about such, that
only the big shooters "in the center" needed to really know dialectical
materialism. Of course I knew something was quite wrong when I heard
that piece of information. In revolutionary China the workers and
peasants were using their understanding of dialectical materialism to
solve problems in their work every day of their lives. Peasants put it
into practice to increase crop yields, keeping produce fresh, workers
used it to solve problems in shipbuilding, in building dams and factories,
it was used to improve weather forecasting, and in the areas of medicine
and surgery, etc. Philosophy is no mystery! The study of Chairman Mao's
philosophic writings were popular among China's broad masses of workers
and peasants in all fields of socialist construction. Certainly the
leadership of the RCP should not have been opposed to common party members
having a similar working understanding of dialectical materialism. Well,
they were. Seems they wanted a membership consisting of persons with a
low level of scientific understanding.

I was told by the leadership that it was not my job to figure out the
contradictions, "our" job (non-leaders) was only "to carry out tasks,
and set goals." Period. The RCP-USA is one of the worst political cults
in the world, with only the sheerest veneer of Mao Tse-tung kept around
to serve as a lure for would-be revolutionaries and to discredit Maoism.
Last year they brought out paste-on Mao "tattoos" so that the masses
could emulate that infamous lumpen rapist/boxer, Mike Tyson, who got
such a tatoo while in prison. A product not likely to contribute to the
world revolution, no doubt an idea born in the brain of some pompous
"invisible" ghost or mummy with nothing more productive to do.

In China the masses studied philosophy and many successes in the
struggle for production and scientific experiment had been made. Here
in the post following, is one example from a little book, "Serving the
People with Dialectics",describing how workers applied philosophic
thinking to their labours.
