Date: Tue, 4 Mar 1997 09:38:50 +0100 (MET) Subject: M-G: To Ang: Some facts contradict a recent thought of mine Ang, In a reply to Karl C. and to you on Zaire yesterday 03.03, I among other things advanced as a possibility - since you IMO had showed such strangely unquestioning acceptance of those "theories" on the situation advanced, firstly, by such sources as the Wahington Pest, the New York Slimes, the International Herring Tribune, various TV slime channels of course and other organs of the US imperialist murder creeps themselves and, secondly, by such sources as, I thought, people must surely see belong to some of these creeps' muppets for instance, that ridiculous "Workers' Voice", Detroit - that you might be "one of them Hata Marys" or whatever, i.e. writing somehow in bad faith. I then had plain forgotten one thing, only a couple of months ago, which I later remembered and which now makes me discard that hypothesis as really a bit unrealistic to begin with: Your quite forceful rebuttal of that attempt, in early January, by the Biggie Brother Brezhnev adherent Louis What's-Go(o)denaugh-for-the-Afghans to engage in some Biggie Brothering against people on this list, or in the particular case, against me. That was something which it's very improbable, I think, that any "Hata Maryish" person would have done, it can hardly have been any kind of fake and absolutely had a wholesome effect, being supported by several others too. Where did I think wrongly yesterday? I underestimated, I now think, how very difficult it in fact must be for many, in the USA for instance, to see through that double fog of massive imperialist misinformation, including the "ventriloquist trick". You could even take that suscpicion of mine against you, Ang, as a kind of tribute to what I've thought was some rather meterialistic resoning on your part - although I did hold you to be wrong back in November of course and even more so now. I thought it very strange that you could still be falling for that crap. Now who *is* it that's really falling for some crap on Zaire - you or me? On principle, the question IMO should be put over and over again. But surely, the two things I brought yesterday, for instance, the rather long reply of my own and the copied interview with my namesake Belgian Party of Labour chairman Ludo Martens, clearly and once more show that it's you who're very much in the wrong on this. What do you say? Rolf M. --- from list marxism-general-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
