Subject: M-G: Instructive spectacle

The M-I squabble seems to have taken a more serious turn.
It looks like the stalinist crowd attempts to overtake the list, or else....
Adolfo's lapdogs are out, barking and wheezing, poor Barkley-"Hoebbels" is
on his hindlegs pleading for peace, the moderating Trinity is back against
the wall, and the trotskyists is bashed around by all and...loftily fly high
above. A sad but instructive spectacle for a young man like myself.

But there is one truly hilarious moment in all this. I have in mind the
unenviable predicament of the Proyect-Henwood crowd who have been honored
by Adolfo inviting them for a comradely tet-a-tet on the future trots-free list.
Just imagine our friends Proyect and Henwood envisioning themselves left alone
face to face with the Stalin society comrades to engage in "productive" discussions
on the vanguard party and social-imperialism!! No wonder that Proyect has been
lately sending desperate signals to avoid the disaster (see his posts on
Stalin and Vyshinsky) in hope to receive a gentle admonition from Adolfo. In vain!
Adolfo turns deaf ear to "Hoebbels-like" smearing of the Great Friend of Soviet
Prosecutors, and the Knights of the Secret Front too. No gentle admonitions for
Proyect, and no way out from the terrifying prospect of comradely discussions
tet-a-tet.

I read this episode as just another confirmation of the lesson amply provided
by M1: the petty-bourgeois left and "unreformed" stalinists alike can survive
politically and even form rotten blocks *only* in front of their common enemy -
the followers of Lenin and Trotsky. I guarantee that if the trotskyists on M-I
withdrew from the list, in a couple of months they would find Proyect's and Adolfo's
mobs slugging at each other like LA's Bloods and Crips.
