On M-G and SiberiaSwamp ("LeninList")
[Posted: 29.06.97]

The following is an extract from my posting today "UNITE! Info
#37en" (containing the first paragraphs of its Chapter 12, in
part 3/6 of the Info). The arguments for what I'm briefly
saying here appear elsewhere in the text of that longer posting.

HOW AND WHY WAS THE "LENINLIST" CREATED AND
HOW SHOULD OTHERS SUITABLY REACT TO IT?

To take the last question first: Despite the nasty character of
that SiberiaSwamp ("LeninList"), which most probably will show
up quite clearly to anyone who really tries to engage in discus-
sions on any vital matter on that list, there's no reason for
anyone not to subscribe to it. Only, it would be a big mistake
to *abandon* M-G in its favour, since on M-G, you're actually
(at least as matters stand today) *allowed to advocate Marxism*
as much as you want. That's not allowed on the Swamp.

The SiberiaSwamp in essence is a slave list even worse than M-I,
but it cannot be excluded that people might find some interes-
ting information in its postings.

This so-called "LeninList" is an anti-Mao Zedong and pro-revi-
sionism and -social-imperialism mailing list. This can be seen
immediately on the hand of the symbolism of its homepage, at
<http.//www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/6380/leninlis.htm>.
Readers are met by the profiles of - Marx, Engels and Lenin.
That would have been fine 80 years ago and even 50 years ago.

Today, because of the well-known history of later decades, with
the vital repudiation of Soviet social-imperialism by Mao Ze-
dong, it by excluding Mao's profile amounts to a symbolic propa-
ganda for that social-imperialism, and thus against Leninism
and Marxism too. Such pictures are neither really needed nor the
most vital things in any Marxist context. But this one signals,
and correctly too, that you're entering a revisionist swamp.

Generally speaking, it's really not bad at all, as I already
have noted elsewhere, to have several mailing lists devoted, or
purportedly devoted, to Marxism in some way or other. Only, it's
best if as many people as possible from as many parts of the
world as posible get onto *one and the same* list, of course,
and for this again, one should (today) choose the Spoon Collec-
tive's M-G and absolutely not try to replace this by the Sibe-
riaSwamp.

That Swamp thing obviously was created in order to *split* among
those who should really unite, and in order if possible to
*help kill M-G* too. This the circumstances very clearly show.

It would also be helpful if others too would publicly attack
the vile and absurd actions by the SiberiaSwamp group of mode-
rators which have consisted in, firstly, in advance banning
certain postings by one potential subscriber, namely me - who
by my postings precisely have represented the line of Marx,
Lenin and Mao Zedong - and not even saying *what* kind of
postings they'd do that to and why, and, secondly, refusing
during three months even to reply to my application (on
29.03.97) for subscription to their list.
