Discussion Meeting:

Where is the SLP going?

Calthorpe Arms,

252 Grays Inn Road, London WC1

Wednesday 17 September 1997, 7.30pm

Many socialists saw the formation of the Socialist Labour Party as an
opportunity to build a mass class struggle party to challenge the
increasingly rightward movement of the Labour Party. But less than
eighteen months after its official launch, the SLPs internal democracy
lies in ruins, many of its members are disenchanted, and no significant
breakthrough has been made into Labours mass base of support.

How should socialists intervene in the struggles which will emerge under
New Labour? Discuss the way forward with Workers News Speakers at this
meeting.
