Subject: M-G: The problems on the list

I think the idea of creating a list with 'workers democracy' is quite silly,
as well as comparing the list 'purges' to those of the Moscow Trials. In a
crazy surreal way there is a connection, but there never was a workers
revolution or state here to degenerate, and Stalinism didnot grow out the
backwardness of this lists 'economy'. It is simply that the Stalinists have
built up control of the lists, and bureaucratically kick off all the Trots
or anyone who opposes them. But this also seems quite silly. What good is
this power - to control a discussion list? It seems quite idiotic that they
get angry over opposition and wich to destroy it all so they can control -
what - a state, a world superpower, no an internet discussion list. Silly
Silly. They are acting in typical fashion, not realising the need for
discussion and open debate, but whatever. I think it would be a good idea
to create a new list, just to avoid the annoyances of late (but what does it
really matter if you get kicked off an internet discussion list?). We
should all just leave this crap at Jefferson, all transcribe our email
addresses and make a list of discussion list of discussors (it may be long
but we'd only have to type it once and save it in our Adress Books, which
can also be updated). There should be no administration, as it is no
required if we each just copy out the adresses. This is just a quick
solution to the problems of this list. Anychanges could always be made
later. I think, we should all just get up, and un-sub to these horrible
lists, and create our own free discussion lists.
