1=A4. AN ACTION SHOWING THE UTTER ROTTENNESS OF THE
    SWEDISH STATE AND OF THE ENTIRE IMPERIALIST
    SYSTEM

The day before yesterday, on Friday, 05.12.97, the top Swedish
state prosecutor (riks=E5klagaren) filed a motion to the Supreme
Court here to reopen the case against an already once ridcu-
lously and criminally prosecuted scapegoat, who was aquitted in
1989, for the murder of Swedish prime minister Olof Palme on 28
February 1986.

This action, which has been preceded by a certain lie campaign
too in some mass media here in Sweden in the latest months, and
which all who in any way whatsoever have followed the public re-
porting on this case can clearly see is utterly unfounded, ob-
viously is the result of massive efforts on the part of the main
forces of the Swedish state establishment to conceal and protect
the real murderers of Palme.

Even today, thus, more than 11 years after that crime, those
Swedish ruling circles, who also are part of the international
imperialist ruling circles and are dependent on and very largely
subservient to the main forces of the entire big-power system in
the world today, have such a fanatical desire to conceal the
facts of this matter.

Don't they know, perhaps, who the real murderers are, who did
organize and commit this in reality of course political murder?

Yes, they do. They in fact must have had a rather clear at least
approximate picture of this even since back in 1986.

Of course, there are conflicts of interest too within these
circles. And everybody "in the establishment" here doesn't know
everything. But on the whole, it's clear: The Swedish political
establishment does know.

And it's possible to ascertain what forces did kill Palme, and
to prove it with quite sufficient certainty, on the hand of such
information on the murder itself as has reached the public -
those parts of it which can be seen to be correct - and on the
hand of the actions after the fact by various relatively large-
scale political forces, the mass media here and in other coun-
tries among others, taking into consideration also the inter-
national political situation in early 1986, when that murder
was committed.

Last Friday's motion, for once again indicting the obvious
scapegoat, is a desperate, shriekingly scandalous action which
shows how very far the putrefaction of the present Swedish
state, and the entire imperialist system of which it's a part,
has gone today.

It's not yet certain that the (ex-)scapegoat will actually be
indicted again. Deciding on the 05.12 motion, which is "based"
on the "testimony" by some purported "new witnesses" who've
"come forward" only 10-11 years after the fact, is expected to
take the Supreme Court some six months. Meanwhile, the purported
"suspect" is at liberty though under massive unjust pressure; he
hasn't even immediately got a lawyer appointed to him.

If indicted, the scapegoat will be tried by Svea Hovr=E4tt, the
second and higher juridical instance which once acquitted him in
October, 1989, after he had first scandalously been convicted by
Stockholms Tingsr=E4tt in July of that year.

In between these two events there was that not at all unimpor-
tant one of 24 August 1989 that an evening paper disclosed: A
so-called "diplomat", an agent of the Soviet military intelli-
gence service the GRU, bugged by the Swedish security police,
had said something that clearly indicated that his bosses al-
ready knew about murder of Palme in advance; indeed, to the in-
terpreter it had seemed that it was they who had ordered it.
This the Swedes got to hear on television too that same day.

Obviously, to some people at least in the ruling cirles here at
the time, the cover-up conspiracy had gone too far. This 1989
disclosure is not the only fact either that clearly points at
the actual perpetrators of this crime.


=A42. TWO OBVIOUS FACTS CONCERNING THE MURDER
    OF PALME

Long ago, on one occasion in 1987, for instance, I on my part
have stated publicly what forces one in my opinion above all had
to suspect were behind this murder. As part of my political ac-
tivity, I of course have followed this case, which has been and
still is of considerable political importance here in Sweden
and to some extent internationally too. I've come to a somewhat
more precise conclusion concerning it (than in 1987) which fits
all those facts known to me and is contradicted by none of them.

And I've been planning to write a longer posting on this event
in recent history and on some other matters which obviously must
be seen in the same context. This so far has been deferred be-
cause other things have seemed to me to be more important to
deal with. And the present posting will not be the longer one
that I've planned either. I intend to return to this subject
later and then present some more details on this matter and the
ones connected with it, and to explain its political context.

After the 05.12 action here in connection with this murder 11
years ago, is seems suitable to point out at least relatively
briefly certain things, which I shall do in the below.


To all who've followed the reporting since 1986 on this murder -
and I don't know how much information has reached people in
other countries but am talking here of what it has been possible
for everybody living in Sweden during this time to see - two
things must stand clear:

1)	Several people were involved in the murder of Palme.
	That is, an organization of some sort. It was *not*
	committed by a single individual, as yesterday's motion
	once more - provocatively - claims.

2)	Those who perpetrated it were - and obviously still are
	- some *very* big, strong and important political forces
        in the world.

How can you tell this?


=A43. ONE CLEAR FACT SHOWING THAT IT WAS *NOT* A
    MURDER COMMITTED BY A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL

The first point, that several people were involved, is made
clear by above all one testimony that was reported on in con-
nexion with the 1989 trials and which there appears to be no
reason whatsoever to doubt:

The one of an eyewitness to the murder who sat in his car on
the street corner diagonally opposite to the one where it took
place and who for at least three minutes noted a somehow
threatenting-looking person standing on that last-mentioned
corner; he kept his eyes on him for that reason, and when a
couple who he later understood were Olof Palme and his wife
reached that corner, the person fired at them, killing Palme.

This eyewitness, a music teacher, was waiting for his fiancee
and two other women to make withdrawals from a Bank-o-mat. Each
such withdrawal takes one minute. The police collected the
paper strip from that Bank-o-mat. Thus one fact is incontrovert-
able, and has complete corroboration:

The murderer *had stood on the corner*, waiting, for *at least
three minutes*. (Possibly longer in fact - on this point as on
others, it probably is possible to get more precise information
from the trial records etc than what I so far have made the
efforts necessary to do.)

This single fact by itself more or less conclusively *rules out
a lone murderer*.

A host of other things have been reported that go in that same
direction too - observations on many points in the vicinity at
the time of persons using walkie-talkies, of persons earlier on
the evening shadowing the Palmes, of others or even the same
persons lurking in the vicinity of their flat elsewhere in cen-
tral Stockholm at several times in the preceding two weeks, etc,
etc. These facts or reports all are less clear, respectively,
less conclusive - at least to someone with that limited know-
ledge of the details of this murder and the local events imme-
diately before it which I, for instance (living in Malm=F6 in
southern Sweden some 600 km from Stockholm), have.

Palme and his wife, the reports concur, had been to a movie
theater in central Stockholm, the Grand, had walked afterwards
along the street of Sveav=E4gen, on its right-hand sidewalk, as
viewed by them, for some 400 m, had then crossed the street to
look in a shop window and had continued to walk some further
400 m on the street's left-hand sidewalk up to its intersection
with Tunnelgatan. There, on the corner with the shop Dekorima,
the murderer was standing waiting.

In the indictment against the scapegoat in 1989, the prosecu-
tor's obviously mendacious "theory" had been that the presumed
"lone killer" had spotted the Palmes at the cinema or on their
way from it - and had then not fired at once, for instance, but
"had gone past them" when they crossed the street, "placing
himself at the Dekorima corner, waiting"(!) - some 400 m away! -
on that spot lying in the direction in which they did continue.

The facts as far as I know them - those at least three minutes
of waiting on the corner by the murderer - don't seem actually
to make such a way of action a physical impossibility. But
firstly, there is no witness report from Sveav=E4gen, where there
was considerable traffic (the murder took place at 23.21 hours
on a Friday night), of anyone running or half-running in the
manner that would have been necessary. Secondly, such a manner
of action on the part of that presumed "lone killer acting on
an impulse" is most improbable, to say the least. Why on earth
would he have first run off to such a relatively distant spot?

True enough, the spot in question is a "favourable" one from
which to make an escape, since Tunnelgatan after some tens of
meters continues with a staircase to a higher street level, and
the actual murderer did escape in that direction too. But such
planning, by a presumed loner, fits very badly with "impulse
killing"; it i.a. would have "risked" missing the target too,
if the Palmes for instance had crossed the street again or had
taken another direction altogether.

The story which the prosecution would have people believe, back
in 1989, and which now is being warmed up again by yesterday's
scandalous motion, is a *very* tall one indeed, even as seen
from this single aspect.


=A44. HOW IT CAN BE SEEN THAT SOME *REALLY BIG*
    FORCES WERE INVOLVED IN THIS MURDER

The fact that some *very* big, strong and important political
forces were behind the murder of Palme is made clear above all
by the manner in which the mass media (in particular) here in
Sweden have acted after the fact. This is coupled too of course
to the actions by various forces "of the establishment" here,
but it above all is the behaviour of the mass media forces that
merits attention.

How have, in their entirety or in their large majority, those
mass media forces acted concerning the murder of prime minister
Palme in 1986? This is a very big chapter by itself. Obviuos
red herring after obvious red herring after...etc, etc has been
presented to the public over the years concerning the identity
of the actual or "suspected" culprit(s). But above all, before
the indictment in 1989 of the individual obvious scapegoat,
there was a very notable campaign going on for several months,
in which some 80-90% of the mass media forces took an active
part, in the direction of - quite ludicrously - trying to con-
vince people here that *he* must be the perpetrator.

As a number of well-known facts show, not only is this person
quite unlikely as a suspect in this case, he even has a certain
alibi for the time in question. He's never been known to handle
or carry firearms, apparently had mo motive whatsoever, etc etc.
Even after he had been convicted, by that first legal instance,
in 1989, 2000 out of 3000 persons asked in a poll here stated as
their opinion that he was not guilty. All could see he wasn't.

Thus, *a desperate, fanatical campaign* by the media here (in
1988-89 in particular) to *conceal and protect the real mur-
derers*. After yesterday's so completely ridiculous motion, even
the media are now expressing some doubts, but this doesn't
change this very telling fact as a whole.

And *what* forces could it possibly be that the mass media in
Sweden (in their large majority at least) might have been *ben-
ding over backwards* in this manner in order to protect?

To all who are aware of the manner in which the dictatorship of
the bourgeoisie here in Sweden and internationally is organized,
the manner in which the entire imperialist system in the world
functioned in 1986 and functions today, and thus aware of the
facts concerning *who are the Gods and Jesuses of the mass media
in such a country as Sweden*, the actions of those media in
this connection all by themselves narrow the list of sucpects
for this murder down to two groups of persons:

The ruling circles of the two superpowers of that time, 1986,
or at the least, some group or other within (one or both of)
those ruling circles, that is: Forces of US imperialism and
those of Soviet social-imperialism.

The rulers of the USA and the Soviet Union, those were the main
forces concretely upholding the entire imperialist system in the
world, that system on which the rule of the bourgeoisie in coun-
tries such as Sweden too was dependent and also today - under
those changed circumstances of course that the former social-
imperialism has undergone its 1989-91 downfall, transformation
and partial disintegration - still is dependent.

Of forces which the mass media in Sweden would do their utmost
to shield and protect in this manner, there actually is a third,
Israeli zionism - which was always an important bastion for both
superpowers too and for the entire imperialism, against the op-
pressed peoples and nations. But in this connection, "Israel"
can be discounted at once since it by no means would have suf-
ficient motive for murdering the prime minister of such a, to
itself, relatively unimportant and far-off country as Sweden.

So the actions oft he mass media here by themselves do narrow
the list of suspects down to two groups: Forces of US imperia-
lism and forces of (the then still existing) Soviet social-
imperialism.

Concerning the long list of purported other suspects "reported"
over the years, it can be seen quite clearly that they're red
herrings. None of them is even nearly big or important enough in
the world to "merit" such protection by those bourgeois-reactio-
nary media here. That goes for "some right-wing circles among
the police etc in Sweden" as well as for "the (formery ruling)
South African racist clique, "the Chile junta", "Irani rulers"
and for various suggested "individual culprits acting on their
own" too.

Of course, to petty-bourgeois thinking - and Sweden because of
its position in the imperialist system in the world does have
a relatively large portion of what one might call "petty-bour-
geois public opinion" - it would be "more suitable", more "com-
forting" to have as the culprit in this case such a force that
did not present any more immediate danger to people in general
in this country. This is one factor why various reactionaries
have hoped that some people might half believe in one or other
of their red-herring stories too. But of course, materialistic
thinking is what's necessary if you're to have a chance of
seeing through the thick smokescreens which have been laid out
concerning this political murder case.

It should be mentioned too that certain obviously vital pieces
of information on this case which were presented to the public
(in Sweden at least) at an early stage (in the year 1986 itself
above all), later have been "totally forgotten" by all the
media, who have proceeded to present things as if these facts
weren't there at all.
