Subject: M-G: New rules are in effect

The posting limits are in effect now: 1 post per day with a 10,000
character maximum. By making your contributions short and clear and
simple, you do not necessarily subtract from their intellectual
content. And the one-post-a-day limit is better compatible with a
discussion style in which list members try to amend and improve on
each other's arguments, as far as possible, before they throw the
gauntlet and take each other to task for their errors and oversights.

Since I owe you an answer anyway, I will take my classification of the
opponents of the changes as an example. It was short and clear and
had enough insight to warrant a posting. I never had the illusion
that I was speaking the last word of truth in these few sentences; the
categorical tone with which I pronounced my "laws" was meant as a
joke. A concrete situation like the present situation here always has
many levels of determination. And others have a brain too, they are
invited to contribute their own insights. I would have found it more
constructive if Doug would have written:

"Hans, you forgot the defeatists, who think it does not matter what
Marxists say, and who consider the instruments of class struggle as a
playground for the fighters."

Instead of complaining that I did not have a category for him.

Hans.
