Let's see. Vile coup. So the way I see it is this: a guy creates and
runs an e-mail list. After a while, he decides that he no loger wants
to run it the way he's been running it; he wants to run it by a new
set of rules. Is this a "vile coup"? By what definition of "coup"?

So am I opposed to the new set of rules? If I were, there is no reason
to assume that I would express my opposition on M-G, of all places;
and there is even less reason to assume that my opposition would come
from a perspective that you would agree with. Let's say I was opposed
to it and _I_ staged a "coup" and took over the administration of the list.
Would you, Rolf, like the results? No, I submit to you that you wouldn't like
them any more than Hugh liked my "solutions" on M-FEM.

The thing is: whoever in Spoon runs this list, it will only be by a dint
of almost miraculous coincidence if the list is run in a way you agree with.
What else is new? The solution to this is to start your own list, no?
There are a number of ISPs that offer lists at prices which, if a number
of people chipped in, would be almost negligible. I wouldn't trust you,
or want you to, run a political list in line with _my_ politics;
why do you, who don't trust me either, pretend that I have some moral
obligation to run one for you, and that it is "vile" of me not to?
This is just stuff and rubbish.

As for the hypothesis that I am Charlotte Kates, I know a guy who
claims that all women are the same once you turn them upside down.
To those who share his wordview, I most definitely _am_ Charolotte Kates
and she is me.
