Subject: M-G: Communist Manifesto 150 anniversary web site Date: Thu, 29 Jan 98 19:14:54 +0000 From: <socappeal-AT-easynet.co.uk> What's is New at Socialist Appeal's "In Defence of Marxism" web site 29 January 1998 Communist Manifesto 150 anniversary web page http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~socappeal/150years February 1998 marks the 150 anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto. This is a very important event as the Manifesto is one of the most modern books around and describes brilliantly many of the phenomena we are witnessing today (while most of the labour movement official leaders talk of the "market", the first tremors of the capitalist crisis are already felt in SE Asia). For us it remains a guide for today's labour movement. Therefore we have decided to mark this anniversary by publishing this commemorative web site. We have included the Communist Manifesto itself, links to the Manifesto in different languages, links to Marx and Engels biographies and picture archives, links to other marxist sites, a section to advertise meetings and activities around this 150 anniversary, a section of articles about the Communist Manifesto open to contributions, a comments page, etc. We are conscious of the fact that the page it is just in its initial stages and will have to be filled in. That is why we need your contribution. Let us know what you think of it. Do you know of Manifesto editions in other languages?, do you know of biographies or pictures not listed in our page? do you have something to say? do you know of meetings being organised? Let us know at: 150years-AT-socappeal.easynet.co.uk The 150 anniversary of the Communist Manifesto is a very important celebration, help us make this site worth it. Hoping to hear from you soon, Comradely yours, Socialist Appeal's "In Defence of Marxism" web site socappeal-AT-easynet.co.uk http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~socappeal/IDOM.html PO Box 2626 London N1 7SQ Britain --- from list marxism-general-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
