TV news only stating "a black man shot by police when driving at high speed"... This raises the question about the relations between racism and capitalism, and mostly between anti-racism and anti-capitalism. To most marxists racism is only a side issue of a most broad question of capitalism, stating that when this ceases so will do that. Well, the question is that in between is black people (and other minorities as well) who is suffering the worse. But is raises still more questions. Isn't the class-strugle a thing of the past, shouldn't reallity nowadays require other kinds of struggle against capitalist/imperialist/colonialist forms of exploitation? Can this be a marxist position? Or at least a post-marxist one? --- from list marxism-international-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
