I know lots of people who supported Tony Benn in the 80s who are still active and are not on the extreme right of the LP as was also stated. The bit about the CP supporting the Social Contract also does not fit in with their stuff that I have read. The poll tax movement was more than just demonstrations. Millions of people refused to pay. I do not know how many thousands ended up in front of the judge for it. A comrade of mine who was 76 years old spent a few weeks in prison. I will see if I can dig up something more detailed. -- Comradely, Richard.
