Thisis because 2% of the vote went to "others" which includes Nader, Libertarians, Natural Law, etc. However, I don't quite think this is some big victory for the working class. Since the Congress is still Republican, Clinton will use this as an excuse to continue to wheel and deal from a "moderate" (read pre-Reagan Republican) perspective. The left's impact on the election was extremely weak. The country gyrates between moderate and conservative and our voice,has, sadly, been largely lost.
