     I agree with Louis G. that the early history of the 
Chinese Communist Party was a murky business.  It can be 
argued that its most important elements actually formed 
among a group of future leaders who were in Paris at and 
immediately after the Versailles Treaty Conference.  Among 
those so involved was none other than Deng Xiaoping, who 
was a 16-year old revolutionary in Paris in 1920.
