Dear Doug:

You say that you have never read anything that I have written which is
interesting or politically useful.

I have never read anything that you wrote that didn't display the most
astonishing:

  -- anti-theoretical bias (coupled with an ignorance of the basic
     literature that you purport to be familiar with);

  -- crass and crude empiricism;

  -- vulgar and simplistic "Marxism."

You are, moreover, quite talented (in your petty journalistic way) at _ad
hominem_ attacks (witness recent discussions on PEN-L), distortions of the
positions of others (witness your feeble posts on pomo on PEN-L that Blair
S., rightly, called your ass on the carpet for), and apologetics for trade
union bureaucrats (witness your support for the unconstitutional and
undemocratic actions of the Labor Party leadership re the Buffalo
Chapter).

Perhaps the above is a reflection of your material condition as a (truly)
petty-bourgeois journalist.

BTW, how much did you offer to pay someone/hour for help with the _Liberal
Business Observer_? So kind of you to offer to exploit young talent.

Comradely,

Jerry
