Below is the schedule for the national tour of the US of two Salvadoran
unionists. WILMER ERROA ARGUETA
Secretary of Relations for ASTTEL, the Salvadoran Association of
Telecommunication Workers, will be speaking next Monday in Albany at Siena
College in Latham, here in the Capital District. I am pushing for some rail
labor representation at this meeting, and already have some verbal committments
>from a few people. If anyone one this list is nearby and can make it, I will see

FIGHTING THE GLOBAL SWEATSHOP * DEFENDING UNIONS

CISPES's FALL TOUR OF SALVADORAN LABOR LEADERS,
Benefiting grassroots organizing in El Salvador, and featuring:

     ANA MARIA ROMERO
Sweatshop Worker and Labor Organizer from El Salvador
Secretary of Organizing for the Union of GABO Workers,
        STIT-FEASIES

     WILMER ERROA ARGUETA
Leader of the Salvadoran Labor Movement
     Secretary of Relations for ASTTEL,
the Salvadoran Association of Telecommunication Workers

Working people's rights are under attack around the globe.
Sweatshops are expanding and governments are cutting back on social
spending while corporate welfare goes untouched. But, people are
fighting back. In El Salvador, sweatshop workers, the women's
movement and the FMLN (Farabundo Marti National Liberation
Front) have joined together to organize for change. Public sector
workers have mobilized thousands of people into a growing
movement against the selling off of public institutions. Ana Maria and
Wilmer are seeking international support for their struggle during a 4-
week speaking tour across the U.S. Come hear their story of how the
U.S. government and corporations are building sweatshops, exploiting
workers and busting unions in El Salvador. Come hear of the growing
resistance!
