Subject: M-I: AID AGENCIES AND IMPERIALISM


KARL CARLILE: Is it insignificant that there has been little or no 
disccussion on this and other related lists concering the East 
Zairean crisis?

It would seem to me that the aid agencies involved in this area 
exercise substanital political clout. They played a big role in 
in whipping up hysteria concering the refugees there which involved 
demands that imperialist forces be deployed as if these forces had a 
benevolent character. They rarely if ever make reference to the hidden 
agenda that may lie behind such forcesr possible future presence in this 
area.

Perhaps a discussion could be developed concering the character of 
these agencies and the character of their relationship to 
imperialism.
