Subject: M-I: Books on Marxism

From: Bookmarks Bookshop
We would agree with other readers' suggestions that people should
read Marx (and Engels, and Lenin) as part of such a group. Try *The
Communist manifesto*, *Wages, prices and profit*, *The German ideology*
(basic explanation of historical materialism), *The civil war in France*,
Engels' *The origin of the family, private property and the state*, and
Lenin's *State and revolution* and *Imperialism, the highest stage of
capitalism*.
It is useful to read introductory books, as long as they are read
in conjunction with the originals. We publishe two books to serve just this
purpose: *The revolutionary ideas of Karl Marx* by Alex Callinicos and *How
Marxism works* by Chris Harman (for more information e-mail us at
106163.77-AT-compuserve.com).
We also publish a catalogue of recommended books, which can be seen
on the World-Wide Web at http://e033.gene.uic.edu/bookmarx.html
or you can e-mail us with your home address for a paper copy (it's too big
to e-mail), and we can supply any of the above (and a lot more) mail order
anywhere in the world.
