Subject: M-I: Godena's Remark

My back-handed reference to a particularly slimy excruscence that hangs over
the Left like a low-grade virus, and whose defense of US imperialism goes
back to the Korean War when the new B-52 technology was being used to lay
waste to thousands of Korean villages, has, predictably, elicited howls
of disapproval.

So be it. I think the record is pretty clear for that outfit, and for
its geriatric guru, Tony Cliff. His is a long and sordid record of
support for Nazi's (the Ukranian fascists fighting on Hitler's side during
the early years of WWII), for the US (Korea, and then a repeat performance
in the early years of the Vietnam War until he was forced to render lukewarm
support to the ant-imperialist struggle), his perfidious desertion of the
Miners' Strike in 1984, his support for the Mujadaheen, Lech Walesa,
Yelstin and Hamas. This jackal thought he was going to feed on the
decaying carcass of "Stalinism" as he had on the droppings of Thatcher and
Reagan during the 'eighties, now he is back in his familiar role
of....lobbying Parliament!

Of course, I did not make a precise analogy to the Nazis; I only said that
I would no more refer to the ISO in a Marxist content than I would the
American Nazi Party or the Klan. Of course I could have said Julio
Inglesias or Francis the Talking Mule, or David Letterman.

Somehow the example I used seems fitting.

Make of it what you will.
