Subject: M-I: Need information...


I am a graduate teaching assistant at Kansas State University.  While 
on this list, I have greatly appreciated recieving those posts that 
are concerned with GTA's unionizing.  We are just beginning to look 
into what is involved in doing this here at KSU.

An article was published on the front page of the local newspaper 
today which "addressed" some of our concerns.  Needless to say, I 
think we walked into the interview with a dangerously naive 
conception of how the media creates its information.

ANY INFORMATION anyone could throw my way that deals with 
unionization efforts at other universities, or public relations 
strategies, or ANYTHING ELSE you feel people in our situation ought 
to know would be GREATLY appreciated.
