Next, they tend to use language that is geared to the academy rather than the language that ordinary people speak. The other week, Kevin Cabral posted comments from Chomsky on the tendency for postmodernists in the academy to use jargon. This is also a big problem for your journal and "Science and Society". You folks are simply not interested in having a conversation with the sorts of people that Chomsky or Michael Parenti do: church groups, unions, peace groups. You are mainly interested in talking to each other. This should be obvious to anybody who spends a day or two on PEN-L. I try to keep up on some of this stuff, (hell, I've been reading it for 28 years--what am I talking about) but I can barely get through an issue of "Science and Society." Tell you the truth, I have never even looked at your journal, but frankly when I saw the table of contents for back issues when you sent me that Nicaragua submission to review, I was really daunted. It had "academia" stamped all over it. Trust me, Paul, if you ever got a job as a computer programmer, you will be astonished how easy it is not to study the "transformation" problem.
