This is a variant on Wilde's famous quip about socialism involving too many meetings. Or Nancy Folbre's characterization of the Albert/Hahnel utopia, which sounded to her like life as "one long student council meeting." We can bemoan passivitity & alienation, but a lot of people just want to forget the job and go home at night. It's may be hard to energize the masses with the promise of only more work. Or am I being too pessimistic?
