Subject: M-I: Stalin -- Enough,  Already!



Uh,  folks,  it's about time we moved on to something else,  don't you
think?    I mean,  do we want "Lobotomizing so-and-so" to be the most
prominent thread in our archives?    I can't think of a single mind that has
been significantly changed by the months (and soon,  years) of this stale
debate.    

Lou (P) has suggested that we look at the prospective changes in China
following Deng's departure.    There are many other topics as well better
suited to an international list.     I just received an interesting volume
in the mail today on the demise of the Soviet Union (Routledge,  I think)
*Revolution from above*,  offering a rather novel view of the
self-destruction of the CPSU.    And what of Zaire,  and Turkey,  and
Algeria?   The point is,  there is so much that is happening of interest to
Marxist and revolutionaries that to spend post after post imitating a
"Portuguese Parliament" (everybody talking, nobody listening) seems
somehow...tragic.
