Subject: M-I: List suspensions

A good comrade has written to me off-list to say that he can understand
the arguments of both the moderators of M-I and those who object to some
of the suspensions.

This was part of my reply:

"I know how you feel. Sometimes it is neccessary to take sides even
though it is very uncomfortable.

I like all three moderators a lot and I will not get involved in any
personal attacks on them, but I will try to put them under some moral
pressure.

Some people on the list are not there for an exchange of ideas between
Marxists. Their sole purpose is to provoke trouble and behave like they
are in some student society. Either they have not grown up yet, or they
have a more sinister purpose. Either way, they are destroying the M-I
list. It is all very well saying that they should be ignored (I have
said that), but many Communists will not take it any more. We have been
humiliated and abused by the capitalist media for so many years and have
not been able to answer back. On M-I we can answer back and refuse to be
abused any more.

The time has come for the retreat to end!"

Comradely,

Richard.
