Speaking at the Socialist Scholars Conference in NYC this morning, Joan
Roelofs said that for decades, the NAACP was a project of the Ford
Foundation. They're *everywhere*!

The U.S. nonprofit/foundation/third sector really stands out as part of the
ruling apparatus compared to other countries, though state and third sector
are trying to promote the model around the world.
