This exchange for me has been what these lists can do at their *best* - acknowledge that at this present stage of international politics people come from a wide variety of exposure to marxist ideas, and it is often accidental which branch of marxism each individual has encountered. The opportunity to cross fertilise, check out, test and argue, providing both sides think it is worth actually thinking an argument through, is unique. And to co-operate. That does not preclude people deciding they want more specialised lists for specific purposes. A list open for content like this is not a specialised list and will always have that disadvantage. It also has important advantages. Chris Burford --- from list marxism-international-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
