Subject: M-I: Happy Birthday To The ICL!


Happy Birthday to the International Communist League!(ICL)

For anybody who doesn't know it the ICL former Spartacists are over 30 years 
old!

30 years ago or so a small group of smart asses (Jim Robinson,Shane Mage)
to name a couple took the path of reforging the Fourth International after
the SWP had taken the road to reformism!

Some of them fell by the wayside and others like Jim  have gotten old..But I 
want to thank them and especially that horrible Jim Robinson for making  me 
a communist/Trotskyist and Bolshevik Leninist.

Some of the great contributions that this tendency originating out of a few 
smart asses in the SWP was things like;

"The Genesis of Pabloism"

"Cuba and Marxist Theroy"

"Women and Revolution"

Not to mention and enormous new product in the disscussions and theroy 
around inter-penetrating peoples and now today the discussion on "new" labor 
vs "old" labor. One could go on and mention "Lenin and the Vanguard 
Party",Events in Iran encompassed in the slogan "Down with the Shah,Down 
with the Mullahs" or the incredible work involved in the Afghanistan stuff 
and more recently the civil war in Yugoslavia..

Now the ICL is not a perfect organisation. And these smart asses are bound 
to mistakes in the future. But Malecki has a warm place in his heart for 
this little group who against all odds played a central role in keepimg the 
authodox tradition of Trotskyism alive!

So hats off to the ICL on their 30th birthday. But ya still don't get a free 
ticket! Because Trotskyism demands this from everybody about our Communist 
future!
