I am planning to reply to other statements Chris made in his reply to me,
but before doing so, I would like to hear more about the above, from Chris
and also others who have something to say about the relevance of chaos
theory and complexity theory to Marx's and Engels's methods. In fact, if we
could pursue this as an independent subject, not embedded in the "state
capitalism" debate, we might be able to move discussion from polemically
charged arguments to clarification and advancement of theory.

p.s. I just finished Bhaskar's _Reclaiming Reality_ and am now reading
_Plato Etc_. Has this list already discussed his work? (I remember Gary
mentioning him once, but the topic didn't become a thread.)
