From: mao_docs-AT-blythe.org Date: Fri, 15 Aug 1997 10:23:35 +0000 Subject: M-I: Updates to our archive August 13, 1997 The Maoist Documentation Project is pleased to announce a major overhaul of our Web page. We have reorganized it to make it easier to use, and have added a status page so people can see how our archiving efforts are progressing. We have added several items that you might find interesting. First, we have added issue no. 3 of The Worker, the journal of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). From February 1997, it contains a summation of one year of successful people's war in Nepal. We have also been able to add several articles from the great polemic between the Communist Party of China and the Soviet Union. Over 30 years later, these articles are as timely as ever in understanding how socialism can turn into its opposite. Also in our Chairman Mao archive we have added the Red Book in Spanish. We hope to add facsimiles of the Red Book in other languages if we can find them. Please contact us if you know where they might be available. We are close to completing all five volumes of Chairman Mao's Selected Works. We have added Volume 4, and are beginning the proofreading of Volumes 2 and 3, as well as a series of talks from 1956 to 1971. We hope to have all five volumes completed by year's end. Beyond that, we have received Volume 9 from India, and hope to receive Volumes 6, 7 and 8 soon. In our Peru section, we have added a page commemorating the 11th anniversary of the Day of Heroism, featuring a speech by Chairman Gonzalo and including many drawings which depict the heroic resistance of prisoners of war in the face of the armed forces. We will be adding the June 1996 and October 1996 copies of El Diaro from Lima soon. Hopefully we will be getting a more current edition soon. We have a backlog of material from India to scan and format for our archive. We have acquired copies of Voice of the Vanguard, the organ of the Communist Party of India/Marxist-Leninist (People's War), which has been waging armed struggle in Andhra Pradesh since 1980. We have completely scanned the two-volume Liberation Anthology, a collection of articles from the CPI-ML journal which covers the period of the CPI-ML from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, and have recently received the Frontier Anthology, which covers a similar period. We plan to add other documents from the Maoist organizations in India as they become available. We take this opportunity to greet those comrades who have contributed their time and effort in scanning, proofreading and reformatting. Please visit our home page at www.blythe.org/mlm.
