I think Lou misses the point of Gay's question, which is an important one.
How can the Jewish community in North America be held complicit in the
crimes perprtrated by Israel against Palestinians (and Lebanese, Syrians,
etc.). On the surface, this does seem like stereotyping or worse.

The answer is that almost all of the members of this community have
supported Israel and few have protested the atrocities it has perpetrated.
And this support has been consequential. The US Jewish community can take
much of the credit/blame for the fact that the US government not only
supports Israel politically but feeds it the funds needed to maintain its
military. I think, but cannot prove, that North American Jews fashioned the
blueprint for the quid-pro-quo arrangement by which Israel does exactly
what the US wants it to do in terms of Middle East politics (as well as
serving as the US's cat's-paw in overt and covert military activities
elsewhere), in return for massive financial support and consistent
political-diplomartic support from the US.

So the Jewish supporters of Israel -- those who support it blindly -- are,
indeed, complicit in the atrocities committed in the name of Zionism.
