Doug,

The problem is that no matter the material or perceived well-being of the
working class the capital-labor relation is still exploitative. At least
this is the problem that must be somehow be made known to the working
class. Certainly material well-being (which is declining globally), a web
of institutions that conditions people to believe that freedom and
interests are only subjective and individual, and an elite with the power
to manufacture an intersubjectivity of maximum individual liberty are
barriers to the bringing in line worker preference with their objective
interests. It's hard not to be a pessimist looking at such a formidable
set of barriers.
